SOMETHING ABOUT ME
I’ve been working as an artist for over 20 years now, starting with graffiti as a teenager in my small hometown in the south of Austria. I instantly fell in love with the thrill of painting on a larger scale, so I’ve continued working on murals ever since. I always knew I wanted to be an artist—when I was 10, I even begged my parents to send me to a school focused on fine arts, even though there was no budget for it.
Drawing and painting have always been a big part of my life, and they still are. I am a mother of two kids who love to be creative with me on a daily basis. I draw my inspiration from everyday life, my family, vintage photography, thrift shops, traveling, TV shows, and nature.
When I left my hometown to live in Vienna, I wanted to attend one of the big, prestigious art academies. However, after applying and being rejected countless times, I realized how to become an artist on my own terms. In retrospect, this was the best way for me to develop my style, gain confidence, and refine my approach as both an artist and illustrator. I never limit myself to one thing; I love exploring new chapters. That’s why my range is quite broad—I say yes to almost every project that sparks my interest.
I currently live in a small town near Vienna because I missed the woods and the tranquility of a smaller community. My studio is located next to the train station in an old building with incredibly high ceilings—so whenever I feel the urge to visit Vienna, I only have to hop on the next train and be there in 20 minutes.
My husband Oliver and I run a studio for illustration and graphic design called Wald & Schwert. We enjoy the opportunity to manage EVERYTHING together, from our studio work to household chores and parenting.
Besides client work, I’m also happily working on personal projects, such as canvases and pottery, digital art, or objects like blankets and mugs. I also love to collaborate with several charity organizations, raising awareness for important causes or simply making a welfare facility more appealing.
When I’m not making art, I love spending time at home, cooking and crafting with my kids, or watching as many films as possible in the beautiful old cinemas in Vienna.
I LOVE TINY THINGS. LIKE MINIATURE FIGURINES AND BEETLES.
